1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using the Vehicle Finder API ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Vehicle Finder API provides vehicle data via a REST API, including maintenance schedules, oil change specifications, safety recalls, technical service bulletins, diagnostic codes, and parts information. Data is sourced from public databases including the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and manufacturer publications.

3. Account Registration

You must provide a valid email address and password to create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Each individual or organization should maintain only one account. Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access.

4. API Usage and Restrictions

You agree to use the API only for lawful purposes. You may not:

5. API Keys

API keys are issued per account and must be kept confidential. Do not share keys publicly or embed them in client-side code. You are responsible for all API calls made with your keys. Revoke any compromised key immediately through your dashboard. We reserve the right to revoke keys that are found to be misused.

6. Pricing and Billing

The Service offers a free tier with limited requests per month. Paid plans are billed monthly via Stripe. Prices are listed on our pricing page and may change with 30 days' notice. Plan upgrades take effect immediately. Downgrades take effect at the end of the current billing cycle. No refunds are issued for partial months or unused requests. You can cancel your subscription at any time through the billing portal.

7. Data Accuracy Disclaimer

All data is provided "as-is" from publicly available sources. While we strive for accuracy, we make no warranties or guarantees regarding the completeness, accuracy, or reliability of the data. Vehicle specifications can vary by trim level, region, and production date. Always verify critical data independently. The Service is not a substitute for professional mechanical advice.

8. Intellectual Property

The API, documentation, website, and brand are the property of Vehicle Finder API. You retain ownership of your applications and any content you create using data from the Service. You may not use our name, logo, or branding in a way that implies endorsement without prior written consent.

9. Termination

Either party may terminate this agreement at any time. You may close your account through the dashboard or by contacting us. We may suspend or terminate your access immediately if you violate these terms, engage in abusive behavior, or fail to pay for a paid plan. No refund is issued upon termination for cause.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Vehicle Finder API shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenue, whether incurred directly or indirectly. Our total liability for any claim arising from the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

11. Modifications

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email to the address on your account. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.

12. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Oregon, USA, without regard to conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these terms or the Service shall be resolved in the courts of Marion County, Oregon.
